About Founder, Dr. Kristin Jones
Many people suffer from painful emotions that may feel exhausting and depleting. If you are one of these many people, your suffering can be reduced through the use of effective skills for emotional balance, and those skills will create both revitalization and resilience. As a Doctor of Health Science, a Psychotherapist, and Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher, I have witnessed firsthand the transformational benefits of these skills in the lives of so many people. Jones Mindful Living was created to bring life enhancing practices to you in a way that is affordable and accessible, overcoming the obstacles of time, cost, and distance.
My Training and Career: I hold a Doctoral Degree in Health Science, Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. My private practice is called Jones Therapy and Coaching and is in Miami, Florida. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (“DBT”) through Behavioral Tech, the official training organization founded by Dr. Marsha Linehan and served as the director of the DBT program at The Counseling Group in Miami for nine years. I am also intensively trained in DBT Prolonged Exposure for posttraumatic stress disorder, and Radically Open DBT. I also have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Yoga. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, borderline personality disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
